ASUSEAN1
shishavaclooks pretty cool, it would be nice to have in a bar but a 250 dollar price tag seems pretty expensive for a household item
MechAnt
IIRC, Mushrat showed us a picture of a hand vacuum he jerry-rigged to work as a shisha starter.
mushrat
here's my answer to that. Costs 20 bucks at target and some aquarium hose and tape.

mushrat
yup, i have 2 now because on busy nights I run one down completely. I just take the backup off the charger and put the dead one on. Necessity is the mother of invention.
waterboi
sishavac is nice and a hefty price tag. I like Mushrat's version better for cost. And probably works just as well.

stryet
I'm very intrigued how the shishavac burns coals--my stovetop is a mess of ash. Still, $250 for a vacuum and hotplate? Naw...

Naw...My guess would be an electric element under the grate where the coal basket goes, and probably a vacuum system to help them heat faster by moving air through the coals and the filter to catch the ash. ASUSEAN1
yes i like mush's design but it doesn't clean hoses and stems too
Foos
That thing looks pretty sweet, but sadly I could never pay more for an accessory than I paid for my pipe. If it was $100+ cheaper than maybe.
Akkbar
oh man i would never ever use that
camelflage
when i worked at the bar we just started everyone's hookahs ourselves... worked nice since we didnt have time to actually smoke most nights.
FURsAKeN
I agree with you Foos, if it was 75-100 bucks cheaper.Thats pretty awesome mush..
oolatec
Guess Hookah in Chicago also jerry-rigged a vacuum cleaner. They have a switch on the floor that they step on to turn it on and off. Works great.
shisha fan
that shishavac looks like an espresso machine. there must be tons of hookah bars that could use something like that and it isn`t even that expensive.

RayVer
that thing looks awesome. Functionally I wouldn't pay more than $80 for it Edited October 28, 2007 by RayVer
scottienl
DOnt you agree when i say though that the preparation time and skill you must do it with to have a good smoke is key ! 250 bucks for something that starts your shisha and cleans ur pipes.. then heats ur coal... why ?! Dr. Atkins
Looks totally useless... it also probably functions horribly, unless it was designed for some standard hose/stem that you can get your hands on.
